Tonia is inspired by the beauty of nature and the impact weather has on the moods of the ocean. In Coastal Magic she captures a beautiful sunny day overlooking the sweeping view of Koonya Beach, on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. She wants the viewer to be absorbed into the beauty of the panorama.
Shades of blue, turqoise, and lilac paint has been applied freely using brushes. Greens and blues applied with palette knives create texture on the bushes in the foreground and the distant headland. The painting is on a quality cotton canvas with a white timber external floating frame. It has wire across the back, ready to hang and is finished and protected with two coats of satin varnish.
