Tonia's love of the ocean, it's moods and colours, and people having fun at the beach inspired her to paint this artwork. The spectacular scene is an aerial aspect of the back beach of Portsea, on the Mornington Peninsula, Australia looking across its signature sand dunes to the rough surf. Wendy is seen, in her red bikini, with her dog. She is Tonia's fictional person and appears in many of her paintings.
The panorama shows the power and beauty of nature and was painted to give the viewer happy thoughts of summer and the beach. Cool blues and turquoise greens are favourites in Tonia’s seascapes.
Acrylic paint has been applied with brush and palette knife and finished with two coats of matt varnish. The painting is framed in a quality white timber, floating frame, has a wire across the back and is ready to hang.
