Tonia is inspired by the beauty of nature and people's interaction with the changing moods and colours of the weather. Reflection captures a solitary girl on the beach before the storm. She is gazing out to sea reflecting on what was and far-away-places. The stormy clouds feature moments of dark blue and turquoise in contrast to the last of the sun on the waves and pale green shallows. Her white dress blows in the wind and her reflection is seen in the sand in the foreground.
Shades of turqoise, blue and white acrylic paint has been applied freely using palette knives and brushes. The painting is on a quality cotton canvas with a white timber external floating frame. It has wire across the back, ready to hang and is finished and protected with two coats of satin varnish.
