Tonia is inspired by the beauty of nature and people's interaction with the changing moods and colours of the weather. In Turquoise Tides, she has created a lively day at one of the ocean beaches of the Mornington Peninsula. The colour and movement of the waves is captured. The scene features colourful beach umbrellas and people enjoying the day. Tonia's fictitious character, Wendy (aka 'Where's Wendy’) in her red bikini, is on the water’s edge. The painting is aimed to bring your home vitality with happy thoughts of summer and good times at the beach.
Shades of turqoise, blue and white acrylic paint has been applied freely using palette knives and brushes. The painting is on a quality cotton canvas with a white timber external floating frame. It has wire across the back, ready to hang and is finished and protected with two coats of satin varnish.
